The initial product to be offered by Tailgate Nation, Inc. is an absolutely addictive outdoor action game called Tailgate Football. This patented product will enhance any tailgate party and/or outdoor gathering. The game can be played by either two or four (two teams of two) people. The game alone is very engaging; however, to further enhance the overall experience, TN plans to license the product through the Collegiate Licensing Corporation (CLC) to carry specific collegiate and university logos and replications. We eventually anticipate licensing through the National Football League as well. Tailgate Football provides an experience totally unique, yet, directly relatable to the game of football.
After initial assembly, the product consists of a base unit, a goal unit which inserts into the base and replicates a field goal structure with two additional rungs), and six (6) footbolas, (1 footbola = two molded footballs tethered by a braided nylon rope) 3 of which are marked with nose cone rings to signify home & away teams.
Game play involves an individual/team member to toss each “footbola” at the goal unit rung of choice with the objective of “wrapping” it to accrue the corresponding points affiliated with that rung. The top rung is worth 6 points (a touchdown), the middle rung is worth three points (a field goal), & the bottom rung (a point after attempt or P.A.T.) is worth 1 point. The object of the game is to win three of four quarters or, if tied two quarters a piece after four quarters, win the sudden death overtime. In order to win a quarter, or sudden death, a player/team must be the first to score exactly 31 points. If a player/team goes over, they fall back to 21 points. One of the highlights of the game is the physics involved when the “footbola’s” meet the rungs and jump or flip to a higher or lower one, flip off entirely, clack back, knock an opposing players off a scoring rung entirely (or your own if your not careful), etc… Although a players’ skill level may increase over extended game play, the physics of the game will always keep it fun, exiting, and somewhat unpredictable.
